Unhappy trying to get knoppix to see my ich5r sata raid

OK I'm new to Linux.
I'm using knoppix 6.0.1 installed on a flash drive.
the old version 5.1.0 live cd would auto see my raid and i could mount them and use them but with 6 it sees them as two separate disk. (there in a raid zero) i can tell this b/c there's an option to install knoppix on a hard disk and the installer sees them as two seperate disks and i just don't what to do to make knoppix see it as a raid.

It might be a software-hardware raid and the old knoppix had the software raid available and the new version does not.

ich5r, knoppix, livecd, sataraid
