Keyboard not detected in Graphical mode


Hello everyone

I am not able to detect my keyboard in graphical mode(init 5)

It works fine in init 3.

The X server starts and i get the screen of username and passwd login,but the keyboard does not work.

The mouse works.

I would be happy if someone gives me a solution to this issue.

hi,
Plz.specify the distro you are using.
The problem would be in you xorg.conf file.

post the o/p of /etc/xorg.conf (in slackware its this file)
and also specify which keyboard type are you using i.e US type or something else.

I am using Redhat 9.o and my keyboard is non us(Samsung)

I had a similar problem coz my keyboard was USB port operated.(In Fedora 2).If thats the same case with you, try using a keyboard operated from ps2. the problem is resolved in fedora 4 though.
