Intel 82845g/gl graphic adapter

Hi,

I've installed SuSE linux 8.1 on my PC with a intel 82845g/gl graphic card. But I can't start the graphic mode because there isn't a driver for that card.

How can I resolve this problem

I have the same graphic card on a box running RH 8.0. I was able to get so-so graphics with a generic driver called "vesa." See if it is in your choices. It works for me for now. I understand that kernel 2.6 will provide support for this card. Good luck.

two ways to solve this problem:
1. go to http://www.xig.com/ download the software, install it follow the instructions. But the demo version only last 25 minutes
2. go to http://www.xfree86.org/~dawes/845driver.html, the solution is there.
