Force a webcam to use a generic driver.

To get the following hardware working.

Code:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0ac8:303b Z-Star Microelectronics Corp. ZC0303 WebCam
First install the gspca drivers here:

Hi

I have a webcam that does not have linux drivers. lsusb dispalys
Code:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0ac8:303b Z-Star Microelectronics Corp. ZC0303 WebCam
So basically the usb device is working properly.

My question is - how do you force a device to use some sort of generic webcam driver or can this even be done at all.

cheers

You would have to blacklist the driver, I believe. However, if it's working, why would you want to risk it not working?

OK, what I mean is that the computer detects the device, however, when I view the webcam I either get a black or Green screen.
