Looking for a Generic TV Card Driver or something?
I have a really crappy unheard of TV Card (I think it's CyberTV or something) that I bought for like $10 on ComuterGeeks.com awhile ago. I am going to be moving to Linux soon and I wanted to know if there is anyway I could get a general driver of some sort so that this will work. I'm almost positive that noone's created a driver for this TV Card already, noone uses it.
there IS only one driver for 90% of tv cards and it's part of the kernel. if your card is based on a brooktree chipset 848 or 878 then it should be supported no problem. There is very seldom anything other than generic drivers under linux. brands don't mean sh*t. the docs don't say it's supported, but it will probably work fine.
It didn't come with docs. Was OEM, even without a driver CD or floppy, I had to go out and download drivers that were made for Win95 and fuck with them to get it to work. LMAO!
