Dual Pentium II SMP Support?

Hi, I recently installed Arch Linux on my Dual Pentium II machine. I decided to compile the latest stable kernel (2.6.4) instead of going with the stock 2.6.3 kernel that Arch 0.6 comes with. Whilst configuring the kernel I made sure to enble SMP support (with a max of 2 processors) so I would be able to take advantage of both processors. I recompiled, threw the kernel image into /boot, edited and the grub config file and rebooted, but it doesnt seem to be detecting both cpu's. I'm sure that i booted the right kernel (and not the old 2.6.3 kernel) .. but nothing seems to indicate that both processors are being used. The contents of cat /proc/cpuinfo lists only processor: 0, and not processor 0 and 1 as it should be? I'm a bit confused since I thought all that had to be done was build SMP into the kernel.. maybe I'm missing a step? If anyone out there has had any luck with getting a dual processor setup to work for them, any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks alot.
