My linux GUI isn't starting up :0 (


ok.. i dunno WHAT happend.. i shut it down all correctly just stopped working one time at booting..
What happends is it goes threw every thing.. and when its time to log in.. it boots me from the dos type (every thing is in text) screen to the GUI screen.. but the GUI don't show up.. the screen just stays blank.. then Freezes.. i pused f1 or one of the f keys and it booted me back to the Dos type promped (all text) i can logg in as ROot but how do i access changing my screen setting.. or any thing to fix this prob

you might want to try to just reconfigure X. its not giving any type of errors or is it just going straight back to the command prompt?

nope it sits at a black screen till i start mashing the FKey's..lol and then i goto a Text log in screen.. BTW.. i would reconfigure the X if u knew how.. :0 / im new to linux

with mandrake you should be able to use drakxconf to configure X, or you can try xf86config as well...
