Mplayer question

Why doesn't Mplayer have a "repeat" option? You know... so you can loop play on small video clips forever.

It does.. it's called "loop" in mplayer..

ahh I see it.... however... when I search through the options (the GUI of the actual player) there is no loop option. Does it have to be configured through terminal for each and every file one would want to loop?

Seems like more of a hassle than anything...

Not sure, might depend on the GUI or skin your using. I don't use mplayer as a GUI, prefer to use and play from a command line..

If you want to be able to loop in mplayer you need to edit the ~/.mplayer/config file:

open a new terminal and type: echo "loop=0" >> ~/.mplayer/config

This will enable a repeat forever option.
