Create an HowTo/Tutorial for GNU/Linux 3D HD Game Code Development

Would a thread for creating an howto/tutorial/code on making HD 3d games on a GNU/Linux development platform be worthwhile?

This is a new thread generated from:
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ml#post5918531

It is similar to the postings by others (links are at the end of this posting)
but is more toward developing a generic wiki, document, and/or process to provide GNU/Linux coders a path toward HD 3D game development. The hope is to establish a way for like minded individuals to consort. dugan has already been very helpful.

I fall into the 'Myst, Riven, Exiles III, Uru, Uru - Path of the Shell, Myst IV, Myst V' group; immersive, video puzzles. Not big on the shoot'em ups, to each their own.
Maybe user driven linux game development is in order as an alternative to the multi-billion dollar choice.
Maybe something on the order of the games included with kde, but to a more 3d level.
Seems as though there are quite a few experts; some who have experience in the nuts and bolts of HD puzzle games.
Something very basic to start and gradually build a GNU/Linux game development platform where those with great ideas can come together and create.
Maybe a venture for those of us who are retired and on fixed incomes.
My gaming paradigm was set a long time ago when colossal caves came out.
I'd wish for a similar experience to be available to others at a similar age.

Offtopic, but if you liked the Myst series I hope you have gotten Obduction by the same developers (on Steam).
