I am installing gentoo linux for the first time. (stage 3, x86) I have made sure that I did everything correctly on the installation so far. Only I get stuck on step 9 where you do your first emerge sync. Sometimes it is actually able to connect to one of the servers and even start going through the list of downloaded packages from the portage tree. I am not too sure of what I can do. Any help would be much appreciated.
Terribly sorry, Well, I partially don't even know whats going on. After I have chrooted to the "new gentoo" I can't run a fully successfull emerge sync. I can ping out of my network. I am wondering if maybe my router is blocking rsync capabilities. How could I check that?
