mail


hi everybody
i'm using fedora 12 and i wanna send mail using command $mail

actually i tried to send mail to my gmail , yahoo ,and hotmail emails but i didn't receive the mail

so i expect that i should have some configuration on my host before sending mai

so can any one help me find these configurations

For most distros, sending email just works. However not all ISPs
allow email to be sent out to the Internet. Typically they will
give you a mail relay if they block outgoing email.

Here's a troubleshooting tip, add "-v" to the mail command and
it will let you see the results of the connection attempts. For
example: echo test | mail -s testing -v me@myaddress.com

You can also run mailq to see if email is queued up waiting to
be delivered.
