with the linux proxi, backend pop3 mail client can not receive mail and send mail


I have configured linux squid proxi and backend windows xp clients can browse web pages but can not send and receive mail from pop3 mail server which is not in LAN.
The error message is "the host coud not be found. Please veryfy that you have entered the server name correctly"
