Just create a new account and use pop3 and smtp (unless it is IMAP, then use IMAP and not POP3).

I think your work is very simple....Just make sure that your two PC can ping each other....( windows and linux )......set the pop3 and smtp server address of your ms outlook as the linux PC's IP....If the user is authorized at your linux will be able to check email through your LAN....

problems connecting from outlook to mail server

I have installed a postfix+courier-imap mail server on mandrake 9
it works very good on webmail (with squirel), but i can't make it work with pop3
it works telnet localhost from the server, but if i try telnet server_name 110 from another computer it does not work
and when i try to download with outlook express it sais:
"Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: ' (1)', Server: '', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F"
anybody can help me??
