NEWS ABOUT PuppEX Bookworm64 Build 220714 – TWO versions
My two new Puppy Linux derivatives are built using the Bookworm Build Script. They are compatible with Debian Bookworm – upcoming Debian 12. One version of 1070 MB (the ISO file) is for UEFI computers. The other one of 903 MB (the ISO file) is for non-UEFI computers and VirtualBox/VMware. The non-UEFI version can run i full screen in VirtualBox, since VirtualBox Guest Additions are pre-installed. Watch this screenshot…

Install a Linux distro in VirtualBox

Posted 04-06-2022 at 04:26 AM by beachboy2

I am assuming that you have already installed VirtualBox and that your CPU supports virtualization, using either Intel VT-x or AMD-V (SVM) which has been enabled in the BIOS.

The ISO file for the Linux distro (e.g. MX Linux) to be installed in VirtualBox has been downloaded to the user’s Downloads directory.

Open VirtualBox and click on New.

1. Enter a descriptive name into the Name box (e.g. MX Linux).
2. Select Linux as the Type.

Install the latest VirtualBox version on Mint and Ubuntu

Posted 05-17-2019 at 05:36 PM by hydrurga
Updated 05-23-2019 at 07:49 AM by hydrurga

This tutorial currently relates to VirtualBox 6.0.x, but will be valid for any version in the VirtualBox repository. The following instructions have been tested on Mint 19.x but should also work on Mint 18.x, Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04, and other distros based on Ubuntu. Note that since v6, VirtualBox does not support 32-bit hosts, for which you should install VirtualBox v5.2.

The instructions below should not affect any virtual machines you have already set up with a previous version of...

SlackEX (Slackware 14.2) Live DVD with KDE 4.14.27, Nvidia 375.39 and kernel 4.10.2-x86_64-exton – Build 170314

Posted 03-14-2017 at 08:44 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

SlackEX is based on Slackware Current/14.2. Slackware is the first widely-used Linux system, which is still developing. Slackware has existed since 1993. The older the fiddle the sweeter the tune or as we say in Sweden: “Gammal är äldst”.

New features in version 170314 of SlackEX
I have replaced kernel 4.7.1-x86_64-exton with kernel 4.10.2-x86_64-exton with support for “everything”. Most important is that I have changed repositories from Slackware 14.1 to Current. I.e. Slackware...

Run/install AndEX Nougat 7.0 in VMware Workstation and/or VirtualBox

Posted 11-10-2016 at 10:29 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

I have noted today how good AndEX Nougat 7.0 is running in VMware (Workstation-12.5.1-4542065). You can of course run the system (or install it) directly from the ISO file android_x86_64-nougat-7.0-gapps-exton-build-870mb-161107.iso.

I knew already from before that AndEX runs very well in VirtualBox.
