How to fix Arch Linux file manager mounting error

Posted 04-04-2010 at 09:47 AM by MTK358

When you plug in a removable storage device in your Arch box and get an error dialog with some kind of errors about HAL when you try mounting it with your favorite file manager, this should fix your problems:

First, edit "/etc/dbus-1/system.d/hal.conf".

Code:
vim /etc/dbus-1/system.d/hal.conf
You can obviously use whatever your favorite editor is in place of vim.

Now find something that looks like this in the file:

Code:

Screensaver lock screen, and other pesky problems (now solved!!!!)

Posted 04-03-2010 at 06:19 PM by kostya

OK, folks.
As most things I could share are already present here in one thread or another, let me just tell MY story of how I found solutions to the problems I encountered.

And the first one in line to be told is the well-known "how to disable inactivity screen lock in KDE4???" problem. The screensaver starts after "..." minutes, you want to go back to your screen ... and must type in your password! You know the story.

... Ha-ha-ha! So simple....
