A few rpi setup notes.

Basic setup
-----------------
install jessie os
do updates
install vim mc

Wifi
------

Check Ethernet & Wifi Before continuing make sure the Ethernet cable is connected in and you can ping out from the Pi:

ping 8.8.8.8


You will also want to set up your WiFi dongle. run

sudo shutdown -h

now and then plug in the WiFi module when the Pi is off so you don't cause a...

After doing some research, I was able to make my original rpi work as an access point. Perfect match for my old nexus 7 2012.Had to go to jessie and change the wifi driver. Adafruit had a good tutorial on how to set it up. Went on to set up a simple lamp with linux apache2 php and mariadb. Installed the gui and then installed xrdp and it works great too.

Now to do the same for an rpi zero so I can carry it around in my pocket or thereabouts. Another "InTRAnet of things"...

Been spending in the #rpi. Got wifi working. Probably add a wifi dongle soldered to the rpi zero since I do not want toe wait the the rpi zero w. Goal is to match it with my palmtop to be an awesome team.

Also playing with the Arduino. Adding ethernet, but need to learn how to add-on wifi..

PiFM sorta
Wanted to be able to send music to speakers outside the house say for a barbecue or whatever. Could use Blue tooth among other things, but I wanted something more secure and easier to generally implement. PiFM seemed to be an answer . With a RPi you can send an old fashion radio signal to a radio and the radio will play what is sent it. All you need is an up to date Raspian install on a Raspberry Pi with internet access. I used...

Have a barebones arduino working with the enc28j60 via battery power as a minimal web server..

Next project is to use arduinos as a/d converters for use the parallel port and the Rpi.

Made a usb ethernet gadget with the RPi zero.
