Gosh I like the rpi zero w. Even a rpi zero can be used to make simple robots to give away for the holidays. added the enc28j60 to the rpi zero. just a 10 meg connection, but it works well enough. amazing how well the rpi zero can become a man in the middle device.

Motioneyeos can turn a Raspberry Pi into an ip camera.

Normally I am not fond of canned software, but this one might be an exception. Motioneyeos is a raspberry pi implementation for the program Motion. Motion is software to control video capture devices. All control is done via the web. For purposes of this project we used an original raspberry pi. (https://github.com/ccrisan/motioneyeos/releases). A few rpi setup notes.

Basic setup
-----------------
install jessie os
do updates
install vim mc

Wifi
------

Check Ethernet & Wifi Before continuing make sure the Ethernet cable is connected in and you can ping out from the Pi:

ping 8.8.8.8


You will also want to set up your WiFi dongle. run

sudo shutdown -h

now and then plug in the WiFi module when the Pi is off so you don't cause a...

After doing some research, I was able to make my original rpi work as an access point. Perfect match for my old nexus 7 2012.Had to go to jessie and change the wifi driver. Adafruit had a good tutorial on how to set it up. Went on to set up a simple lamp with linux apache2 php and mariadb. Installed the gui and then installed xrdp and it works great too.

Now to do the same for an rpi zero so I can carry it around in my pocket or thereabouts. Another "InTRAnet of things"...
