Android-x86 KitKat 4.4.4 build 7 with GAPPS and kernel 4.0.8-exton-android-x86

Posted 07-22-2015 at 07:14 AM by exton (Exton's Blog)

Android-x86 KitKat 4.4.4 Exton build 150721, version 7, is a total rebuild.
I’ve added Mesa (3D Graphics Library) 10.5.9 for better Graphics performance. It has enabled hardware acceleration for Nvidia (Nouveau) and VMware (vmwgfx). The system can run live (from CD or a USB stick) on almost all laptops (and some Desktop computers). For example Acer (Aspire), HP, Samsung, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Thinkpad, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Ausus laptops. The Android system is distributed in the form of...

Exton|OS 64 bit with Mate and kernel 4.0.0-4-exton :: build 150719

Posted 07-19-2015 at 03:20 PM by exton (Exton's Blog)

Exton|OS build 150719 is based on Ubuntu 15.04 64 bit (released April 23, 2015) and Debian Jessie (Debian 8). Exton|OS’s ISO file is a ISO-hybrid, which means that it can very easily be transferred (copied) to a USB pen drive. You can then even run Exton|OS from the USB stick and save all your system changes on the stick. I.e. you will enjoy persistence! I’ve found two scripts which make the installation to USB very simple. The scripts are quite ingenious. My tests show that they work flawlessly...

NEWS/CHANGES 150714
All packages in MeX Linux have been upgraded to the latest version by 150714. Cairo-Dock has been replaced by Docky. The most important change is that I have replaced the install program Ubiquity with MeX Installer. The installation to hard drive is now so simple that a 10 year old child can do it. Watch a SLIDESHOW of the hard drive installation process. Also: Linux Mint 17.2 Rafaela is based on Debian and Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty Tahr. MeX build 150714 is based on Debian 8...

What’s new in kernel 4.1? (Linux 4.1 is a major update to the Linux kernel)

Slackware is the first widely-used Linux system, which is still developing. Slackware has existed since 1993. Gammal är äldst (The older the fiddle the sweeter the tune) as we...

NEWS 150706 ABOUT RaspEX
My first version of RaspEX is from 150318. I have now upgraded the whole system again. RaspEX is a Linux ARM system for Raspberry Pi 2. It is based on Debian Jessie (Debian 8), Ubuntu Vivid Vervet (Ubuntu 15.04) and Linaro (Open Source software for ARM SoCs). In this new version (150706) I’ve installed Wicd Network Manager and added support for Adobe Flash in Chromium (so you can watch YouTube).
