Add VLC! It may have been originally intended for video, but it is the only media app I have installed - it plays audio like a dream.

Amarok is magic! I added the ObsidianMusic pluign recently, now my entire collection is streamed to all my other machines in my house.
I make my friends sit through a demo of my slackware box each time someone who hasn't seen it comes over. Amarok (along with compiz) is pretty much the star attraction, they've never seen anything like it in their tiny windows world.

It may be too late to change it, but amaroK is actually not the preferred spelling anymore.

I like amarok, but since I am one of "those" gnome users, I discovered exaile this year. Had to vote for it!

Same here... almost, anyway. XMMS is my second choice. BTW- mplayer is actually a video player, which is probably why it's not on this list.

Im a gnome user too, but I stiil use amarok for my music.
