Back after a long break

Posted 09-07-2011 at 04:29 AM by indeliblestamp

I'm slightly ashamed of the fact that I haven't posted to LQ for nearly 2 years. I have happy memories of this site.. I'm a lurker nearly everywhere else on the web, but this is one of the only places where I actually used to contribute something.
I've had a slightly addictive spell with gaming this past year, but I've shaken it off and I'm back to Linux now

ObsidianMusic: my favourite amarok plugin

Posted 11-24-2008 at 12:36 AM by indeliblestamp

Obsidian is a web frontend for your amarok music collection.
As long as Amarok stores your collection in a MySQL database, download this plugin, put it in your htdocs folder and edit the config file with your database details.
You get a pretty page with your music collection neatly arranged. Click to add songs to your playlist, and hit 'play playlist' to stream the music straight to a remote computer!
Obsidian made me (finally) get a dyndns account. Just when you think Amarok...

New stuff I tried out

Posted 03-19-2006 at 11:04 PM by indeliblestamp

I found out this briliantly useful terminal client called yakuake, which gives a quake-style terminal that rolls down smoothly from the top. Just used it a day, and its already in my essentials list.
Other minor stuff I tried this lazy weekend were Katapult, a simple tool to launch your apps; and an amusing extension for thunderbird <!--break-->that converts your mail to leet speak, morse, ROT13 and a few other nice codes.
This is my 1st blog entry :) I'll put my favourite bash...
