Aqualung might receive some votes if it were added:
http://aqualung.sf.net

BTW it says 2006 in the blurb following the forum title.

What exactly do you mean by an "audio media player"?

My guess would be that an "audio" media player is a media player that is incapable of displaying video, and a "video media player" is one that can play audio or video files.

By that definition the answer to "What do you use to listen to audio?" could well be a "video media player" (as it is in my case), but none of the options allow for this. Also there could be more than one answer to that question.

Exaile gets my vote. Amarok + GTK = Awsome

portamenteff 01-03-2008 03:16 PM

Ammorok. It's a podcatcher, folder handler, cd, streams, mp3, and so on.

TerryP 01-03-2008 08:19 PM

Second. (And here's some more text because it won't accept anything less than ten characters.)

itsgregman 01-03-2008 09:49 PM

Actually I use Kaffeine but as it was not an option I voted for the only other audio app. I use Songbird.

speedygeo 01-03-2008 11:41 PM

Here is an amaroK enthusiast!

RobertP 01-04-2008 12:49 AM

You mean there is something other than mplayer?

I voted for XMMS only because mplayer was not a choice... :tisk:

donk 01-04-2008 06:59 AM

How about mplayer?

mplayer should be added to the list.
