ndiswrapper Not Sticking

I have a Linksys PCMCIA 802.11g networking card, but getting it to work isn't a problem. The problem is getting the settings to stick after a reboot.

I have the driver, ndiswrapper inserts the driver, and loads it into the kernel no problem. VASMCC then prompts me for the ESSID and WEP key for the wireless network I want to connect to, and all works well.

I select "DHCP" and "start on boot" from the following screen, and all is good...until I reboot, then nothing at all. I have to go through the whole rigamarole, again, just to get networking up. Normally, I wouldn't complain, but this laptop is to be used by my mum, and it needs to be as un-fussy as possible as I may not be around when she needs to check her email.

Any ideas and suggestions for solutions as to how to get the ndiswrapper to stick after a reboot?

Okay, so, new revelation to this problem: I've noticed the "Link" light on the WiFi card light up during boot, but the second I log in, or switch to a VTY, the light turns off, and I can even as much as raise the interface (through the command line, or through the VectorLinux-supplied WiFi tool).

Also, I forgot to mention, there's no ethernet port on the laptop, and I don't have a PCMCIA ethernet card.

Oh no! Zero replies!
Have you checked to see if madwifi supports the card?

Dyakoyu bratyik, but I've since dropped trying to get Vector Linux running on that laptop - I put Slackware 12.0 on it, and it's worked like a dream from the start.

awesome! Lately I've been having minor headaches with Debian - my sources.list is not what I want it to be.
