I have tried Ubuntu 7.04 64-bit on my Intel D935, and it didn't satisfy me. It is Amd-generic and not really suitable for Intel. Some apps just kept crashing.
With the 32-bit version of Ubuntu 7.04 my system works perfectly.
The question is if the new generation of Intel processors are truely 64-bit, I mean the Core2 and the D9xx series.
In my opinion they're definitely not 64-bit.
There is not a trace of true 64-bit archirecture, all you have are two or four processors in one casing, that all have a 32-bit architecture.
Else you would have a 128-bit processor with a Core2 quad!!!
So I find it nonsensical to talk about 64-bit.
