Without better information on the precise error messages, it could be anything causing the problem.
Try this:
Run md5sum on the cd you burned, and on the .iso you downloaded. If they are the same, the burn was good (though not necessarily the download). Now compare the md5sum to the sum you find at the site from which you downloaded the .iso. If they are not the same, the download is corrupt. Download it again and check the md5sum before burning to cd. If the md5sums are the same in all three places, there is some other problem, and precise information about the problem is needed.
