[SOLVED] Ubuntu Software Center installing issues

When I install software though it applications do not show up in my applications menu automatically.

Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Try installing software using Synaptic and see if that helps. To run Synaptic:

$ gksu synaptic

You may have to keep rebooting to see programs installed with the Software Center to appear in the menus. Or maybe restart the panels:

Press Alt+F2, then type:

gnome-panel --replace
