Ubuntu Software Center unable to Access the Web Proxy filter

I get this error When i try to install any software through Ubuntu Software Center

Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/poo...untu1_i386.deb 407 Proxy Authentication Required ( The ISA Server requires authorization to fulfill the request. Access to the Web Proxy filter is denied. )

And i am connected to internet via same computer

Are you behind a proxy ?

Did you asked the IT people why access is denied?

Well He Don't even know what linux is,& i am replying the post via same system.Firefox can connect to the web easily but the applications are giving me problem.

The link you mentioned in post #2 has a sort of solution.but i can't copy the changed "atp.conf" file in to the root directory, it says permission denied to access the folder.What can i do.
