[SOLVED] Skype not working in Ubuntu

Hi, I installed skype in Ubuntu Studio 12.04, but it does not find my contacts, and does not send or receive messages/video. This is on my Asus Eee PC, wireless connected to the net, a new install the last five hours and the email worked fine. Is there a fix?

Now after installing updates and restarting it works fine.

...is skype still available (in an updatable version) for Linux?

To install it I went to Skype's website and there is a multi arch version for Ubuntu 12.04.

Thanks for the heads up - I used to use it to learn a language at the mixxer (Japanese of all choices, still need to get to grips with the language), they use Skype, since ***soft "aquired" it, I stopped using it and hence did'nt include it anymore in my subsequent installs...
