SKYPE not working with addon soundcard installed in Ubuntu 9.4

I have some issue with my onboard soundcard. So i have installed addon soundcard. Skype is working but my mike is not functioning. If my addon sound card removed it works fine with onboard sound card. As some hardware problem with my onboard sound card i cannot use it. Please help me in solving this problem.

Did you adjust the Audio options? Sometimes a little fiddling with inputs is necessary, especially if there's more than one device present. "Default" often isn't the best/working choice.
