No multisession with any burning apps...

Greetings to all.

I'm having problems trying to burn multisession with any burning apps on Breezy 5.1. I've got breezy setup as a dual boot with XP, and XP burns multisessions with no problems using Nero. On the Breezy partition, I have K3b, Graveman, Gnomebaker and even NeroLinux installed, none of which are able to continue multisession burns. Any attempt to import, or burn to, previously burnt disks results in 'no sessions to import', 'please insert empty disk' type responses. The annoying thing is, not that long ago I was able to burn multisession by starting the initial session with k3b, and then continuing subsequent sessions with Graveman.

Any ideas on this one??

Many thanks,

Perps

Have you tried creating the disc in Linux as multisession - then adding new data to it at another time?
i.e. have the discs been burnt in Windows XP and now you want to add data to them in Linux...?
Although this should work i can see some problems that may arise .

I have some cd's and dvd's that are fine at work but when i try at home on linux it thinks they are blank...

just a thought

I found these handy instuctions for burning a multisession disk from the command line, works for CD and DVD.
Code:
growisofs -Z /dev/hdd=imagefile.iso
This will burn the iso file.
The to add files to it use;
Code:
growisofs -M /dev/hdd -J -R /path/to/files
You may not need the -J and -R for the Joliet and Rockridge files types.
On the install DVD I made, I can see the files and install Windows from it, but once it is installed, it can not read the extra files I added. Perhaps it has to do with the J and R options, but I got errors when I tried to use them.

Thanks for the replies uteck and -=Graz=-.

@-=Graz=-. All the multisessions I've been trying to burn are in linux, I can't get any of the burning apps to recognize previous sessions, and when I try and burn to disks with previous sessions the disk appears to be closed/finalized etc.

@uteck. I hadn't actually tried burning from the command line yet, but if none of my burning apps work then I'll give that a try.
