libXext

configure: error: We need a working libXext to proceed. Since configure
can't find it itself, we stop here assuming that make wouldn't find
them either.

I get this message when i configure kdegames-3.4.0.tar.bz2 how do i fix this

kubuntu-5.04-amd64

The package you need to install is named something like xorg-x11-devel or libxorg-x11-devel (or xorg-x11-dev or libxorg-x11-dev) . The best thing is to search for "xorg" using Synaptic (the gui package manager for Ubuntu) and install the dev packages.
