OK, not trying to start a flamewar here (& I've been known to smoke, myself from time to time )
My point was that it's a bit disingenuous to ask people to refer to & depend on an outdated website, offficial or unofficial, if it no longer serves its intended purpose. Now, I learned a lot from the site in question, and devoutly hope that the author will update it Real Soon Now to reflect the latest changes. But, for the moment, it's an historical document, not a currently-useful reference.

guys, just because it says '5.04' on it, doesn't mean it won't work on breezy. All of their solutions work on breezy, it's only the backports thing that is not relevant. I'm pretty sure they will get round to changing the title of the site soon, and removing the backports.

a few things ive heard of not working from guide to breezy but if your using breezy click your help icon and use the breezy guide it is also unoffical but it is more pointed towards breezy. the mirrormax backport is down yes but the mirrormax extras still work. i left the extras as hoary since breezy hasnt been out long at all. there are backports they say are safe but with breezy being out all of 3-4 days the backports are pretty useless. for more info on the backports things go to www.ubuntuforums.org they have a whole section on them.
This is the first time I've see this.
Just reading the index is an education.
I have installed breezy but I had so many problems I came back here..
I puzzeled by the total lack of the Kdevelop and Qt-designer programming lnformation.

What you been smoking?
If you take a look at the guide you'll see that a_lot_of stuff has nothing to do with running Breezy or Hoary. For a newbie the guide is still very useful. And from what I've heard there will be an update in a few weeks.
Originally posted by PaganHippie It's good, but outdated. No Breezy support; still mentions backport mirrors that haven't existed for a couple of weeks now.
The guide suggest replacing the "source.list" on the install disk with the one in the guide. I see it has the "backport" listed. If I were to replace mine with this one should I option the "backport" lines out or it doesn't do any harm? I am running ok for now, but I see I have a lot to learn.
if your using breezy there is no backports yet as for hoary the mirrormax backports (the ones on ubuntuguide.org) are no longer working. for hoary backports try www.ubuntuforums.org unless someone knows them off top of head.
