How to go into some directories in UBUNTU from 'My Computer'

Hi All,

I'm new to UBUNTU and would appreciate your help. I need to go into some directories from the 'My Computer' or GUI in Ubuntu. HOwever, I can't find them. The directories that I am looking for are:

/usr/local/

Please help me to locate the directory from GUI. Thank you.

I seem to be able to get there via

Places -> Computer -> File System (double click) -> usr (double click) -> local (double click)

I don't think you can add/delete anything from those directories w/o being root.

If thats the problem you run into next(permission issue during delete/adding/moving), run, "gksudo nautilus" in a terminal, then navigate to the folder
