Updating Ubuntu via another computer. Is this possible?

I have two desktop computers and absolutely no Internet connection at home. I have a laptop computer too. I have installed Kubuntu (8.04) on my laptop and Xubuntu (an older version, only 256Mb of RAM) on one of my desktop computers. I have access to the Internet at work and can use it to update/upgrade my laptop computer, no problem. However, I obviously cannot do this at home as I have no Internet connection. Is there an easy way to update/upgrade my desktop computer via my laptop computer? If not, is there an easy way of installing programs on my desktop computer by networking my laptop and my desktop computers? Any other suggestions?

Many thanks.

You can run "apt-cacher" on the laptop to avoid downloading the same packages twice, and use "apt-zip" on the desktop to generate a list of packages to fetch. That's the simplest method I can think of.
