Boot hangs at initializing /dev
Greeetings all.
I have a laptop with FC5 installed and I also have an external usb enclosure with a 20 GB hdd
in there. No problems with FC5. I installed Ubuntu on my external hdd and got everything squared away with GRUB so I can start to boot Ubuntu from the external drive. The kernel is found and so is initrd.img. The Ubuntu splash screen shows up nice and pretty and the first line 'Loading Modules ok' shows up and then 'Initializing /dev' shows up and the computer just hangs. 'Ctrl-alt-backspace' does nothing nor does 'Ctrl-alt-delete'. The computer just locks up. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this or has any insight to this problem.
Any ideas for a fix?
Thanks!
