a program to print photos from


Any suggestions for a programme to print pictures from Gnome or KDE is okay.

I think gthumb viewer is pretty good. It is similar to the way you print on windows. Picasa is also good if you can get it to work.

If all you want to do is print pictures, have you considered just using the presentation app in Open Office? I haven't done this but mention it because I often use Microsoft PowerPoint in Windows to print pictures. This gives pretty good formatting control and ability to add annotations or other stuff - borders, overlays, etc., and to print groups of pictures on a page that can later be cut apart if wanted.

I also use Irfanview in Windows, so one of the Linux viewers might do the job while providing some degree of control over the picture like brightness, conttrast, cropping, resizing, etc. I haven't used them, but somebody else can suggest one or more to try.

Also look at Gimp. It has lots of options for printing pictures.

I was pleased to see PICASA is available from Google and it works on This OS

It allows the user to "mess' with the picture,crop, color correct, etc
