terminal servers

I am trying to do a virtual connection between windows xp and suse 10.2 . I am trying to establis the connection from the windows computer. I am able to browse both computers from each other. I have the right ip address in the connection. The workgroup I have established is "Mshome". When I try to establish the connection I get the message "There are no terminal servers in Mshome". How could I setup a terminal server in Suse 10.2

Linux -> Windows = Terminal Services client (a.k.a. Remote Desktop Connection)
Windows -> Linux = VNC

The server does not accept new connections". I would appreciate help with this. I am using a us robotics 8004 router and I am not totally sure I ahve that port properly enabled. I am getting this message when I try to login from the to windows xp form the suse machine, I ahve not been able to use windows xp remote desktop connection to the suse machine with any success yet.

Are the computers on the same network?
Port 1723 is a assiged for PPTP VPN networking which isn't correct for remote desktop connections. The default port for RDP (remote desktop connection) is 3389. No need to specify the port if it is the default. You need to configure the XP box to allow RDP connections as well as the firewall. lots of info can be found on the web about RDP. XP home does not have remote desktop connection capability.

You can not use RDP to connect your windows PC to the linux box. You can use ssh for non windows or with windows tightvnc, freenx or cygwinx.

Also please to not create multiple threads on the same subject. A thread automatically gets bumped twice. People provide help in their free time and those that live on the other side of the globe may not see your thread for another 12 hours.
