SuSE 9.3 / IEEE1394 / Slow System

Hello again,

I have the follow problem: I installed SuSE 9.3 on my Laptop very fine (32-Bit Version), now i conected my Ext. HD (Maxtor OneTouch 250 GB), the System configured the HD very fine and i can find the HD without probmlem`s under /Media/IEEE1394disk.
Then i open Konqueror and i click on /Media.... but this time, the system work very very slow. I disconect the HD and now my system works very fast.

Please, where can help me

Similar Problem

I have 9.2 that was working fine. I added 2 160 gig drives and the system has slowed. I formated as ext2 and because of my lack of knowledge they have 1 partition each.

Is the large partition the problem? Does the mounting point matter? I wouldn't think so but thought I would ask.

I think this is the problem but this is like the blind leading the blind. I'm new to Linux and having fun learning.

Any partition experts out there?
