Suse 9.0 SYSTEM slow, net loads fine...

My system runs slow. Like I can view webpage all day, loads them fine, fast, and internet usage is fine and running at speed. It's system operations that are slow. Like deleting a file, or going to another directory, it loads SLOW.

Before the HD crashed it was running fine (speed wise). I switched HD's, reinstalled Suse 9.0, but thi time with more packages from the install CD...namely all of them, and now my computer runs like poo. System operations like changing directories, loading a shell, loading a new "home" window, etc are all slow. Yast takes some time to load as well....

Why's it doing this? It ran slow before I even installed any "outside" packages i.e Mplayer package dependancies, AIM, YIM, etc, so I know it wasn't the installation of outside packages...why's it run slow? Is there any diagnostic I can do or anything I can delete to make this Suse Box run faaster like it did before my HD crashed?
