Suggestions:
If your BIOS isn't at level F.33, upgrade it:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/softwar...-1/SP29481.exe
Disable PNP in the motherboard BIOS.
Run Yast online update, and upgrade everything to the newest. A new kernel patch is out as well. Do all of them.
Make sure your kernel source is installed. /usr/src/linux(your kernel sources should be there)
The winmodem drivers are included with Suse for that chipset. So you're ok there. You can also update that via Yast online as I recall.
You will need to install the NVIDIA drivers.
http://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/L...-7167-pkg2.run
Simple steps to install.
as root,
init 3
cd /usr/src/linux
make cloneconfig
make prepare-all
./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-1.0-7167-pkg2.run -q --kernel-source-path=/usr/src/linux
modeprobe nvidia
sax2 -m 0=nvidia
Choose your settings and resolution. Save it.
/sbin/ldconfig
reboot
Now test the responsiveness. Good luck.
