Difference between 32bit and 64bit SuSE?

Hi. i am just wondering if someone could explain briefly what the difference is between the 32bit and 64 bit versions of Suse are.

Also i have a Athlon 2200, 512 DDR memory machine, which version should i go for between either the 32 or 64 bit versions.

Thanks for your help

The 64bit version is optimized for the use with 64bit systems

The Yast setup program detects your processor automatically and will offer you to choose between 64 and 32bit versions if this is applicable.

Yes but i have saw specific 64 bit and 32 bit versions of SuSE so if it recognises your processor automatically what is the point in having two versions.

Also i asked is my setup 64 bit i am not entirely sure?

Thanks

Two versions, but one setup program. After detection of your architecture, it will offer you to install the 64bit or the 32bit version in case it found a 64bit processor (some drivers do not run on the 64bit version, so it may be desired to install the 32bit version on a 64bit system). If not, it will install only the 32bit version. That's why there are two versions.
