sound/internet

hi all
i have just installed suse 10 on my laptop and pc .
the laptop when i try to configure internet or any thing returns
"error kde su ????
pc has no sound and internetisnt working.
i can understand why people shy away from linux--
i need some help--anyone and i dont care if you walk on water

how are you trying to configure the network?

it seems to me like you system is having trouble switching to root "su" to run thing.

root is THE admin user.

have you considered ubuntu or Kubutu or Mepis??? open suse is pretty unstable at the moment. IMHO.... good project tho...

anything you cant suggest,is better than i can--iknow just enough to get into trouble. I opened yast and done the configuring there and used kinternet
the sound on the same computer isnt working i have tried playing around with kmix.
the laptop when i try to open yast from taskbar returns an error
