I just recently completed a new installation of openSUSE 11.0 on my laptop, and am would like information on how to permanently enable changes made to the GNOME panel. By default, a panel item that enables the currently logged on user to change the display resolution appears in the lower right-hand corner of the panel, and whenever I right-click on it and select "Remove from Panel", it is removed, but whenever I log back in as the same user it reappears. I don't remember this happening in 10.3, as removing items from the panel seemed to be a permanent setting. Anyway, how do I make this permanent in 11.0? Thanks.

You need to run the "sessions" tool (search for "sessions" in the menu and it should show up in the results) and remove that application from your default session.
