If anyone had any idea how I could possibly get past this problem, I'd be most appreciative. It does this with both the CD and DVD, so I know it's not the disc.
you might want to look at the following link. this seems to be a kernel bug, fixed by 2.6.13.3. The release version of suse 10.0 should solve this one, I guess. If it doesn't, patch your kernel to 2.6.13.3?
assuming that boxed version=bought w/ money; that's interesting. I didn't know they released boxed versions before fixing bugs. Contact them directly, they should be able to help you.
Deathspawner. Since you paid for the retail box version you are entitled to, I believe, 90 days of installation support.
Call them and take them to task! I'm sure Novell will be glad to assist.
I don't know if this will work, but I have had install problems on my laptop with previous versions, and I just added insmod=ide-generic to to boot line, and install stopped freezing. I haven't tried 10 yet, just trying to dl it now.

Yeah.. I dunno it's wierd. This may be a pre-release version, I am not sure. I got a copy in advance because I am writing an article on it for my website.
