NO sound withj XMMS/Peal Player

When I play an mp3 with XMMS it starts but runs 3 times faster without producing any sound. It looks as if there is some output plugin working ( the same happens it u have a waveout plugin in winamp enabled) . I checked but no plugin was enabled. This happened the first time i ran SUSE 9.2 pro. Similar thing happened when I try running Real Audio. The progress bar moves quickly and no sound is porduced. I do listen to mp3 files thru amaroK

If anyone can help...

go to menu - multi media- volume-see that your volume is turned on

next , if no sound, check your audio wires that they are attached correctly

if still no sound, could be you have to go into yast-hardware-sound, and configure your sound card. \

good luck

download a song from this address-

http://www.shoutcast.com

it should save it in home directory under documents

go to the home -documents-right click on the saved song, click on -open with- and find xmms player, or type it in the box. can you play a song with xmms
