kde wont start on suse 11


just tried installing kde on my laptop
i was trying to set up printer on network with gnome but got advised to use kde instead as its more easier?
anyway the install went smooth and the sysatem rebooted
i get a green screen with like a terminal window, after say 3 minutes i get the login in screen and i log in. then my desktop appears for a sceond or two then i get a black screen with the terminal window agian then the login screen?
any suggestions welcome

In my opinion Gnome is just as good as KDE
How did you install kde ?
USing yast>filter>search>pattern>KDE ?

I don't know why but this happened to me too with fedora 9 kde...and that's the reason why i moved back to fedora 8 amd 64

do you have the i386 or the amd 64 version ? i've seen that ALL the amd 64 version OF EACH DISTRO are LESS STABLE THAN THE I386 version

I was stable in the use of opensuse 11.0 64-bit.
It didn't have any problem until now.
