installing suse 9.3 help!


Okay.. How do I boot from CD? what key do I hold when I restart? Im using windows ME. I have SUSE 9.3 DVD 32 bit.

I'm assuming you burned the dvd as an iso image.

Some systems don't require you to hold down a key to boot off the cd, others do.

With most Windows ME machines I have worked with you don't need to hold down any key, the system will automatically boot from the cd/dvd.

If that doesn't work it is usually del, f1, f7 or f8

HELP I held Del and the BIOS screen came up.. It says enter password: but I have no password to enter.. I never put a password on my BIOS!

you can clear the bios password by removing and reinserting the button battery on the motherboard, or by finding and shorting the jumper pins for the bios memory. I'm afraid the only way for you to boot from a cd would be to set the bios to boot from cd first, so you gotta get past the password issue before you can go any further,

I got the password from a site. Now I need to learn to partition..lol.

Suse's Partitioner, if I remember correctly, offers to resize so you can dual boot.
