As you can tell, I am newbie. However, I do have a Samba server (Debian Woody 3.0) that is currently serving files to a number of Windows Machines. I need to install SuSe 9.2 professional to several PC's. I downloaded the entire installation tree so as to limit the bandwidth that would be needed for more than one machine. I currently have the SuSe 9.2 Pro installation tree available via a Samba share.
During the net inst process, I noted that it was possible for it to mount from an smb share. I tried this but kept getting the error below.
Cannot find the image.
Check the directory specification.
Other information:
Path on Server:
/somedirectory/distributions/SuSe/pub/suse/i386/9.2/
Samba Share:
Shared Name: pub
Share path: /somedirectory/distributions/SuSe/pub/suse/i386/9.2/
FTP & NFS are not configured on the file server and as such are not available. I would really prefer to simply install from an smb share since that is what has already been configured. These same shares can be accessed from a SuSe 9.1 Personal box that I set up some time ago. This is one of the boxes that I will be installing 9.2 Pro on.
If I can provide any additional information, please let me know. Thank in advance for any assistance. It is greatly appreciated.
