Need help to install mysql devel in Solaris 8


Hi all,
Not sure any of you had ever installed mysql-dev header and library before? I am useing the birary from sunfreeware.com, however I found this mysql-dev header and library are missing.
My question where and how can i get these mysql-dev ready to be complie?

You can download the source code from mysql.com and compile it yourself. Thus you'll have all the header files and libraries needed to compile other programs (i.e. php) with mysql support.
Take a look here because compiling mysql for Solaris might be tricky if you don't meet those requirements.

Are you sure you didn't install a run-time only mysql version ?

You may try to get a complete package at blastwave.org site.

see http://www.blastwave.org/filesearch/mysql4 for a list of files included.

Thanks for your help.
Actually I install the binary version which download directly from mysql.com, I thought I should be a complete version however it looks like missing the development header and library.
