mplayer and gtk-devel and libpng-devel ...

Hello. I have Mplayer working and gmplayer. However I am using Slackware
and don't seem to find the gtk-devel or libpng-devel on my system. Mplayer works fine it seems without these although it says they are a requirement for compiling gmplayer. Do I already have these installed by default and am just not finding them? Also I tried finding the tar.gz 's to these two packages in google and can't find any. Anyone know where to find the devel packages in tar.gz format for both gtk and libpng?

without libpng your gmplayer would not work
to check this see whether there is libpng.so.x in your libraries folder
anyway the libpng homepage is
