Angry newbie question


hi there

i am newbie to linux and i am planning to install slackware 9.1 on my compaq pressario 2200
laptop which i recently bought. i know few commands of unix. i have win xp installed on laptop. i want to where do i go from here. i have already burned 2 iso images for
slackware 9.1 from linuxiso.org on 2 CDs. so what do i do next ? sorry if i am repeating the question here.

why 9.1? that's old now, there's little point in starting your adventure into linux when you're out of date from the off... 10.1 is out now. also be aware that slackware is not a "newbie" dsitro. many people start on it, but it's not deisnged to be user friendly, unlike unbuntu, mandrake or suse.

if you do want to try it though, jsut put cd1 in and turn the machine on...

and please try and use useful thread titles, e.g. "do not know how to start slackware install" or such like. thanks.
